Supertubos Beach

Supertubos beach is located on the southside of Peniche and is home to three main waves and a great option for your professional surf photography session in Peniche, Portugal:

Mohle Leste

Located at the north end of the beach by the break wall

Supertubos

Located just south of the north end of the beach (about 1km south of Mohle Leste)

Consolacao

Located at the south end of the beach

Between these three main breaks you will also find a variety of waves depending on the sand banks, tide and swell direction. Generally if the swell is coming from the NW or WNW the waves will be smaller in the north getting heavier and bigger towards the south. If the main peaks are crowded we can find a perfect spot for your professional surf photography session here in Peniche!

During summer months supertubos beach is a lifeguarded spot and there are three car parks situated between Mohle Leste and Supertubos with free parking and showering facilities.

There are three great cafe/restaurants at the north end of the beach - Xakra Beach Bar by Mohle Leste car park, Banana Beach Bar by the second car park and Supertubos Beach Bar by Supertubos car park.

Supertubos Beach Surf Spots tips!

Mohle leste

Mohle Leste - a picture perfect right hand wedge that refracts off the harbor wall making beautiful big A-frame peaks on bigger west swells surfed on mid to high tides, and fun mellower waves on smaller swells. On north west swells the waves will be much smaller at Mohle Leste than Supertubos so can be a good option if the rest of the beach is too big. Mohle Leste is a great option for surf photography in Peniche for beginners or for advanced surfers on bigger days!
Supertubos

Supertubos - A truly world class barreling beach break that is a spectacle to behold when large swells arrive where you can watch the best surfers from around the world get spat out of heaving barrels, but Supertubos is also a great wave for experienced or higher intermediate surfers to practice their barrel riding abilities on the medium days and great for all with a decent surf knowledge on the small days! A fairly localized spot and can get crowded but if you are respectful the local crew are very happy to share their prized wave with you. Supertubos is the perfect spot to get that barrel shot you’ve been dreaming of!
Consolacao

Consolacao - mainly known for its right hand reef/point breaking on bigger west or north west swells over a rocky bottom situated behind the southern end of Supertubos beach by the fortress, best surfed at lower tides with a tricky entry and exit point over the rocks so only for experienced surfers! On the beach side there are left and right sand bottomed peaks which can be a great option for all levels on all tides. Consolacao is another great option for beginners to get some professional surf photos in Peniche, or for advanced surfers to get some picturesque photos at the point!
